SEND IN THE CLOWNS
La primera vez que escuché esta canción me enamoró, me quedé literalmente enganchada a ella. No puedo evitar sentir una gran emoción cuando la escucho.
Es una canción triste, muy
triste, porque triste es la situación que relata. Hagamos un poco de historia
de este bello tema.
La canción pertenece al musical “A Little night music” estrenado en 1973 y cuyo autor es Stephen Sondheim compositor y letrista muy afamado, Leonard Bernstein le contrató para escribir la letra de “West side story”. Veamos un poco la temática del segundo acto que es donde se desarrolla la acción.
Desiré, es una actriz que dedicó su vida al teatro y a divertirse coqueteando con los hombres pero sin compromiso ninguno. Fredick, un formal abogado, se enamora locamente pero ella se niega a casarse con él .
Al cabo de los años se
vuelven a encontrar y al volver a verle se da cuenta que está enamorada de él y
así se lo declara con la idea de rehacer su amor.
Fredick ya se había casado
con otra y la rechaza diciéndole que ya no es nada para él, ya ama a otra.
En este punto es cuando Desirée, perpleja, dolida por el rechazo, arrepentida de haber sido tan estúpida de perder un gran amor, es cuando canta este tema tan bello donde expresa una inmensa rabia contenida, más bien quiere aparentar serenidad ante Fredick pero su canto es amargo, lleno de ironías y bellas metáforas que delatan su dolor.
Un bello texto con una hermosísima música.
Judy Colins es para mi gusto la que mejor interpreta este pasaje por su hermosísima voz de gran calidad y por su fuerte expresividad.
Muchas grandes cantantes lo han interpretado y también solistas instrumentales entre los que destaco a Benny Goodman .

The question I had is if I put the lyrics to the song in Spanish or not, because you and Sandra have no problems, but the Spanish-speaking ones do. In the end I did not put the translation because when translating it is confusing and rare, so I decided not to do it because when I told the subject it was understood.

Thanks for always being in my publications. Although my problems have not been solved yet and my house seems to have a bomb arrived and everything is thrown around the house ... I feel happy. On Monday we are free of all the requirements of the virus and, with the exception of the mask, we can now travel in Spain and other countries. I am happy!!! My daughter Leticia comes this Wednesday with her children ... I will not meet them, they are small: they are 6 and almost four years old and they have changed a lot since Christmas when I was with them. Pero realmente lo que se trata es de disfrutar de esta voz tan dulce y maravillosa de esta mujer ya muy entrada en años que en su día fue una gran cantante, además de la calidad de la música.Tu "pequeño terruño es una de los lugares más bellos CAtaluña y del mundo.
